The Story Behind Room for One More
Room for One More is a partnership between Whiskers Lodge and Emerald City Pet Rescue focused on giving adoptable cats a calm, comfortable place to stay while they wait for their next chapter.
Through this initiative, select rescue cats stay with us at Whiskers Lodge where they receive individualized care, enrichment, and a quiet space to decompress while being introduced to our community along the way.
Every cat featured through Room for One More remains fully adoptable through Emerald City Pet Rescue.

Cookie AKA Milk Tooth
Cookie, affectionately known around the lodge as Milk Tooth, is an 8-year-old tuxedo girl with a quiet confidence and a deeply affectionate side once trust is earned. Thoughtful, observant, and wonderfully expressive, she’s the kind of cat who prefers calm company, cozy elevated spots, and slow mornings over chaos and commotion.
While Milk Tooth may take a little time to settle in, she quickly reveals herself to be incredibly loving on her own terms and will happily lean into head rubs, brushing sessions, and quiet companionship once comfortable. She’s lived successfully with other cats in the past and may enjoy a feline companion again with patient introductions.
Cookie is less interested in toys and more interested in life’s quieter luxuries: a good nap, a full meal, a sunny perch, and someone who understands the beauty of respecting cat boundaries. She can become mildly overstimulated at times and may give a gentle nibble when she’s ready for space, making her a wonderful fit for a calm, cat-savvy home.
Cookie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines through Emerald City Pet Rescue.
